We stayed in the Astro hotel end of June and the beginning of July. The hotel was very convenient for the beach and all the restaurants in Kamari. Very clean , towels changed every day and bedding every other day. All the staff work very hard to keep the standards up would not hesitate to stay here again. A bbq was held on one friday evening at the hotel a fab night was had by all.—— christaylor131
We stayed here in august 2012 and have re booked for this summer. I have to say the pictures on their website make the hotel look much grander than it is but having said that it was very clean and comfortable. It is perfectly situated and the best restaurant by miles is the Salleda which is right next door, but be prepared to wait for a table, it is well worth it. We spent most of our days lounging on the most comfortable sunbeds at The White Bar, where they wait on you hand and foot and if you ask nicely the guy will reserve you one for the next day. A 'must buy' is the beach shoes as the beach is shingle and the sea very rocky. A 'must visit' is Fira to see the sunset-it is breathtaking and if you go on a sunday evening there is an amazing firework display. The drinks are a bit more expensive up there but you dont have to sit in a bar there was lots of people just standing in the streets watching. The restaurants were very expensive there so we ate back in kamari. The bus stop is 2 min walk from astro and was no hassle whatsoever. All in all I highly recommended this hotel and specially this resort—— Julie B
We stayed in the hotel as part of our friends wedding party.
Staff in hotel were lovely, especially Donny the bar man.
Hotel was very clean, as staff worked very hard.
Rooms were basic but comfortable.
Plenty of places to eat and drink.
We attended the no name taverna's greek night. We all had a fun evening. Would recommend to all. Food was ok but the dancing and entertainment made up for that. Dolphin on the front was also a lovely place for lunches. Recommend Alexanders taverna there food was brilliant.—— elaine m
We stayed at the Astro between 17 sept to 2 oct. We had a warm welcome the manager changed our room for us without us asking. Towels changed every day bedding every other day. Breakfast was very greek busy the first week much quieter the second week . All staff friendly and helpful met some wonderful people and had a hoot.—— christaylor131
We stayed at this hotel as a wedding party. Yes it was a basic little hotel but it ticked all the boxes.
Rooms were clean and bedding and towels changed daily.
The reception was always clean as was around the pool and bar area.
and if you had the energy was was an adequate gym.
Breakfast was your typical Greek one, cake, boiled eggs, cheese and ham etc.
ALL of the staff were extremely freindly and helpful and Donny is developing his own fan club...keep up the good work!
Location was great just a 5 min walk to the front where there are plenty of bars and restaurants
to choose from.
Would recommend Petrinos and Mistral which are on the road down.
You will need beach shoes as it is pebbly and if you dont buy them you will soon be doing the Santorini shuffle!
All in all we had a fantastic two weeks at this lovely little hotel on the most beautiful island ever!
Thank you to all who made it so.—— von68
We stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2013 in a self catering studio. We had room 37 on the first floor with a partial sea view. The room was lovely, spacious for 2 people but a bit cramped for us as we had an 8 year old and a baby but we managed fine. The room was cleaned every day with plenty of clean towels and sheets changed regularly. The hotel was spotless, as was the outside area, the gardens are lovely and pool area good, and not too busy even though it was August. there is also a small outside jacuzzi next to the bar which was always quiet and lovely to sit in.
Breakfast is available but as we were self catering we did not eat here.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Directly outside the hotel is the bus stop to Fira which only takes 15 minutes and is 1.60 euro each, definately worth it!
The hotel is very close to the beach and the centre, only a couple of minutes walk and a supermarket is a few doors down.
Would definately come back to this hotel again but would book a maisonette which also has a private jacuzzi on the patio.—— Nicola M
This September I've spent a part of my vacation at this hotel at Santorini with my friends. Nice location...nearby long beach, nearby bus station from where one could get bus for Thira or Fira, Santorini's main city, and from there you could reach any other cities and parts of island by bus, without renting a car ...nearby a lot of tavernas where you could eat gorgeous local specialities. We've had excellent 3-bed studio ( double bed at gallery and one bed at living room),with kitchen, bathroom and big terrace with jacuzzi. Everyday room service, good quality breakfast rich in fruits and vegetables, kind friendly staff...Despite lacks of few important things in rooms and in hotel in general, I find it a good choice for staying.—— DDinic
This hotel has to be the best value for money on the Island in my opinion. The rooms are spotless and cleaned everyday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. One review said the owner was miserable and I must admit on first meeting Makarios my wife and I were not to impressed. However if you take time out and talk to him you will find he is a warm hearted man though on the shy side and he will endevour to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I am led to believe some of the rooms can be on the small side but ask to be moved Makarios will do his best to sort it out for you if he can.
Breakfast is a typical continental affair......bland but pleasant. The setting on the patio makes up for the blandness, even if you just have a coffee and a juice.
The pool area is spotless and well serviced with sunbeds.
We upgraded to a maisonette with a private jaquzzi and it was worth every penny.—— Smoggies_on_tour
