    • shard大厦的靓丽与香格里拉在英国的第一家酒店,这两点就足够吸引了人的眼球!开业后迫不及待的去体验了一把。酒店位于shard的高区,装潢上有着香格里拉酒店一贯的尊贵与豪华的感觉,但又不失活泼亮丽的配置。
      不可不说,酒店的视角是无敌,能俯瞰伦敦全程。或许是新开酒店的原因,服务上还是需要进一步调整。

    • We went for a special occasion 1 year anniversary. Were warmly welcomed in the lobby and a butler accompanied us up to the bar, we felt really looked after. The bar was pretty full however as we had a reservation at Ting, they were able to accommodate us which was really appreciated. The ambiance in the bar is really lively and perfect for an aperitif, only negative point we order some champagne and were literally under poured, which was really disappointed as it was a very good champagne. We asked for olives that member of staff kindly brought us however on 2 occasion we were not brought any empty bowl to dispose stones of the olives which was not 5 star service at all.
      We then went to dinner at Ting were sat down at a low table but asked to be moved as the leg of the table was right in front of us and extremely uncomfortable, we moved to a normal high table which was better. In regards to the meal itself the starter (foie Gras) wasn’t what described on the menu it was way to rich and more chicken liver than foie gras which was really disappointed. Then main course I had the Halibut which was overcooked, send it back then it was a very good dish that I really enjoyed. My boyfriend had the fillet of steak rare which was served medium rare and had nothing exceptional at all for the price, the truffle jus did not really had flavours, the mash potatoes not smooth but perfectly seasoned. In regards to the dessert these were spot on a huge well done on this point. The staff was pretty knowledgeable and friendly which is always very valuable. We had a great time however for the amount spent we were a bit disappointed.

    • We stayed during opening week and this was our third Shangri-La property so we knew what to expect customer service wise.

      The hotel wasn't fully operational on the first weekend and we were sent an email a few days before arriving letting us know this fact. We had a corner room on the 47th floor and these rooms are very noisy and you can see into other rooms during the evening due to the glass reflections.       Afternoon Tea in the Lounge was a mixed experience - the food was okay however the service was appalling, we waited for 1.5 hours to receive our afternoon tea. This should be one of the best Afternoon Tea's in London however it still has a long way to go unfortunately. You can read my full review on my blog here.

      I think there is always going to be issues with the hotel due to the nature of the building especially with the reflections into other rooms as I am not sure how this is going to be fixed going forward.

      I felt that the check in area was too small for the size of the hotel, maybe use the ground floor area for check in as standing around waiting was slightly annoying as you had to make small talk with the staff members when in all honestly we wanted to visit our room.

      Personally I think this hotel opened too early and should have waited to make sure everything was operational. We did receive a discount on our room after we had the midnight fire alarm go off and also the reflections and noise due to the corner room.

      Fingers crossed things will improve as I think there are a few teething issues in the restaurant and bugs with the building in general.

    • The hotel is just fantastic... The views are incredible.
      I was here for a special occasion and there was no problem having 8 of my friends for drinks in my room.
      The bathroom is out of this world and the service was impeccable.
      Will definitely be returning!

    • We arrived about 2:40 and were greeted downstairs and taken to the 35th floor to check in. We were then asked to sit in reception whilst they checked whether our room was ready. After about 20 minutes, we asked and were told that the room would be another half hour and were taken to Ting for a complimentary glass of champagne, which turned into an additional beer and tea/coffee and biscuits (all complimentary) until our room was finally ready at about 4:00.

      We had booked a Deluxe City View and were shown to a corner room, 5704, with stunning views over Tower Bridge and Docklands. It was large with an extremely comfortable bed, TV, table, chairs, desk, proper fridge-type minibar and a kettle and Nespresso machine. The decor was smart and neutral, but wasn’t competing with the floor to ceiling views. Unfortunately, we were not told that there was tea in the leather case which was left on the desk, so we didn't discover it until the next morning! The Wi-Fi was excellent: very fast, no login required and worked everywhere. However, we couldn’t work out the air conditioning in the morning – even at 15 degrees it was still blowing out hot air!
      The bathroom was a reasonable size, with a shower cubicle, Japanese-style toilet and separate bath overlooking London. It was supposed to have a heated floor but ours didn’t seem to work.
      The turn down service left us a second bottle of water, which was very welcome, but no chocolates.
      The blackout blinds were very effective, but without them at night we had the problem of being able to see into other rooms above and below us, which the hotel didn't warn us about (although we had read about it in the media). It did mean we couldn’t enjoy a bath with the view, but it is hard to see what the hotel can actually do about it.

      We had booked a table in the bar, Gong, at 10:15 – the only time available – and were given a great seat by the window. The service was good, although the gents were served their beer before the ladies their champagne and we had to ask for nibbles! No hot drinks were available yet, as they had only been open a few days.
      The gym wasn’t open yet, but we had a quick look, and it seemed small but well equipped. There are a few anomalies though, like the cheap plastic wall mounted soap dispenser in the ladies, which hardly looks like a five star fitting.
      Breakfast was included in our package, and we went down about 9:30. Service was quite slow, which wasn’t a problem for us, but it was about 45 minutes until we got our main courses, which were both very tasty.
      Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and the views are stunning from all angles. Service was very friendly, if a little slow, and will hopefully improve with time.

    • So far, we have not stayed at the hotel. However, we have enjoyed an absolutely perfect evening there, dining in the Tang Restaurant. From the moment of our arrival right through until our departure we were looked after perfectly. The level of attention was just right, and as for the food-it was indescribably good. The views from the restaurant (including the toilets!) is superb. There is a definite feeling of leaving behind the stress of London as soon as you step through the doors. The dishes are prepared with clear attention to detail, and the servings are not too large.

    • The hotel aside, the Gong bar on the 52nd floor is a shambles. Far too many chiefs with iPads to welcome you at the door and explain to you the minimum spend policy, far too few indians to actually order a drink with. In 4 rounds of drinks there were 2 unclean and chipped glasses, a flat glass of champagne that was sent back and one round took 15 minutes to arrive despite staff being prompted twice. Whilst the views were superb, and the company I was with understanding, at these prices I expect a lot more from a bar that fancies itself as the next big thing.

    • Our first stay at the one and only and long-awaited UK Shangri-La! The views as expected are stunning but the building has its complexities. Rooms well equipped and relaxing, some snagging issues but these were quickly resolved. All the staff were very helpful and eager to please. Breakfast service was a little slow and disjointed but excellent in quality. Highly recommended.

    • Recently had afternoon tea at the Shangri-la. The hotel is beautiful and the good was delicious

      But the service was diabolical! The whole experience was a disastrous. Tables too small for all the food and drinks. We were given 1 stand of cakes and sandwiches between 3 of us because the table was too small. We were told they would refill as required. This never happened we had to keep asking for refills. We waited 20 mins for scones. The champagne ran out and we had to wait a further 20 minutes for the glasses to be filled. Our server disappeared half way through so there was no continuity with the service.
      No one asked us whether we had enjoyed it or even wanted our comments. They didn't even say good bye and thanks as we left.

      It was a totally unsatisfactory experience we were just glad to get out of the place we were so angry and disappointed. It was especially disappointed as we had been so looking forward to our afternoon tea. We won't be going again
