hadnt expected such a good room on a camping site
staff were brilliant
couldnt have expected better in a top hotel
room was fantastic, spacious, great bathroom, all done out in thick wood logs
and we listened to the burbling brook all night although it turned into a torrent as we were subject to the backend of a tropical cyclone—— 290chrisc290
We were initially going to stay a night in Dunedin, but we decided that we would go for a leisurely drive through picturesque Otago Peninsula instead. We stayed here for one night on a powered site in our campervan. We were given a lovely space right at the top end, where the next morning, our son was very excited to be greeted by two big 'baa baas' on the other side of the fence. Facilities are well kept and clean, and service was efficient and friendly. Each powered site is equipped with its own clean water supply and a dump station which was really convenient. It's just a short walk to the village, where there are a small number of restaurants and a corner shop, and it's also just a short drive to the Royal Albatross Centre.—— theshogan
We were only staying in Dunedin 1 night so chose this park so we could make an early start and it was on the way north. An excellent choice. The park is small but in a lovely setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful and amenities are clean and tidy. While you are there take a walk out the front gate and walk along the road to the left for a few minutes and just over the bridge
until you get to the open field on the left. I won't tell you what's there. It would spoil the surprise but make sure you take your camera.—— RobinMc882
We were very happy with our self contained cabin that had everything we needed including a heater that worked very well. We appreciated the cleanliness, helpful staff and location all at a very reasonable price.—— 977patk
We were a family of 6 and 2. Booked a 2bdrm unit but its 1st room had a queen and single and the other room had the kitchenette lounge and bench seats that also had to make do as 2 beds no linen. Office person advised this over the ph when enquiring, only agreed as the all blacks n sth africa game was on and everywhere was booked out for that night so had to make do. the other unit we booked had a queen and ur kitchen toilet shower. Rooms were clean, pretty fresh bedding was too cramped for us especially to have requested a portacot which we didnt get. We stayed 6 nights at another motel closer to town for $20 more and got the whole shabang! 2 actual bedrooms with ample space and bedding. The "2bdrm" units probably Great for couples and smaller families. The guy at reception was welcoming and helpful.—— FamilyTrav3ls
We wanted to freedom camp on the peninsular, but couldn't find anywhere so stayed here for the night.
Friendly check-in, free 30 minutes wi-fi and clean kitchen and toilets. No lounge. The showers were quite poor unless you used the electric shower in the disabled cubicle.
It's the only campsite on the peninsular, so it's here or drive back to Dunedin. Ok for 1 night.—— debstheleo
We stayed only one night here but really enjoyed it. We booked a studio unit here which was comfortable and there was enough room for the 3 of us. The place was tidy and clean, the owners were friendly. The Unit contained a little kitchenette with microwave and fridge and enough equipment to make a quick breakfast. We used the shared BBQ ($2 dollars for the gas) outside for diner but there was also a very good shared kitchen, even though I'm not sure there were enough share pots and pans available so bring your own! Next to the BBQ was a small playground with trampoline, which was good fun for the kids around. The location of the park is good, close to the city centre.—— Tikitaka77
We had 2 nights here in our powered campsite. Reception was really nice as she allowed us to choose whichever site we wanted that was not occupied. Not fussy and very very friendly!
Peaceful and gorgeous setting! A stream nearby that was so soothing. Quiet place that is very well kept. Kitchen is very large and dining room had many tables and chairs which were clean and well maintained. Small playground but clean and safe. Loved the signs that said, "Live children. Dead slow". Amusing!
Toilets are clean and well maintained. Quite small though and there was a timer to switch off the lights if nobody was outside. This is really the only minus point of the place. Hope management can rectify the timer thing. I had to bathe both myself and my young daughter. Of course that took longer than usual. Before we were done, we were plunged into total darkness as the timer did not detect anyone outside. We were INSIDE the cubicle! My little girl screamed in fear and I had to wrap myself in a towel and shivering, walked out to activate the timer again! Phew!! Scared us!
5 star place if the timer system is abolished.—— EnchantedScraps
